Thread: Ubuntu 11.10 - Plymouth - NVIDIA Drivers

lately i've been forced quite bit of research concerning nvidia drivers , plymouth on ubuntu 11.10. standalone computer, not laptop. whatever reason, if install nvidia drivers nvidia chipset video card on ubuntu 11.10, have issue... there seems several posts concerning no real workaround. here link general problem: http://askubuntu.com/questions/68220...driver-enabled . forget using ctrl-alt-f1/f7 - video goes away , doesn't return.

what's user do? come of knowledge asking help. yes, occurs on fresh install of ubuntu 11.10, no upgrade. yes, have nvidia gpus. yes, need drivers development/gpu use. have ubuntu developers not looked @ issue? have ubuntu developers decided not provide "patch" issue (sudo apt-get update/upgrade)? needless say, frustrating. i'm relatively new ubuntu , see far. don't want have more research on finding different distro use if don't have to.

know of fix issue? suggestions helpful , thank in advance.

it problem. if can login screen you're fine moment. wouldn't give ubuntu boot because of it. (but wouldn't shouldn't try other distros, either. in fact, encourage that.)

remember "several posts" complaining not give visibility of thousands of posts aren't happening because others not having same problem.
