Adobe, Youtube, etc. do not recognize installation of 11.7

safari 6.0.4

 

ever since prompted download flashplayer 11.7, multiple sites providing video feeds, including youtube, show static screen statement, "the adobe flash player required video playback", despite multiple attempts download recent flash player. adobe's website cannot recognize have flashplayer 11.7 installed, despite apparently having been downloaded onto computer. no amount of changing safari preferences, removing firewalls, uninstalling 11.7, reinstalling older forms of flashplayer, etc., have managed correct issue, , unable view kind of flash content on internet. i'm pretty sure have "installed" 11.7 on ten times point, , @ loss now. suggestions/

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
