Can't install Lightroom

so bought lightroom direct adobe. able download 800mb installer windows. however, can't seem open intstaller. double click on file, nothing happens. try open directly download window, nothing happens. have restarted , re-downloaded multiple times different browsers. nothing different.

 

windows vista (i know, works me though) 64 bit

i have ~300gb free on main hd.

i7-920, 12 gb ram.

 

this little frustrating.

 

any thoughts? there aren't error messages report.

what's file name , extension downloaded?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
