Changing screen resolution with a button

hi,

 

i ask if there way interface change screen resolution of computer? wanting build interface loads interactive camera works processing needing @ resolution 800*900 webcam screen small on full 1680x1050 resolution.

 

is there way flash application change screen resolution button click? are  there alternatives this?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
