Choosing appropriate project and export settings

i have started archiving vhs videos , believe have process underway generating mp4 files can happily loading premiere elements 10.

my first question establishing suitable project settings.

my pal video has frame size 768 x 576 pixels there not project setting matches exactly. closest seem be  'standard 48 khz' presets under dv or hard disk, flash memory camcorders 720 x 576.

what choose? ideally project settings match video source have.

 

now second question -

if want edit video expect size of video output produce should not differ source.

 

to produce output view on computer aftepremiereelements1.jpgr minimal editing have used export settings shown here. irks me estimated file size if 3.3 gb when original mp4 file imported pe 560 mb. why bloat?

what using frame size?

pal dv video 720 x 576, , not 768 x 576. wrong.

 

depending on whether have standard, or widescreen, par 1.066 or 1.422.

 

are pixel x pixel dimensions digitizing software?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
