How to apply alt text to .eps that contains text already

hi,

i'm hoping obvious 1 it's driving me mad!

i'm working on making pdf accessible in indesign 6. has lots of graphs in .eps format contain random bits of text (axis labels , percents etc). when tag these figures in indesign , add alt text, when pdf exported screen reader read alt text content of .eps, confusing cannot see file. want pdf recognise alt text image, , not text within eps itself. if tag artefect ignores whole thing, i'm stumped!

does know how this?

thanks.

well if me make copy of eps files , store them somewhere safe in folder had word "editable" in name.  open each of eps files in working folder , convert text paths.  cause labels not text anymore.

then when open indesign document allow update links , viola!  no more text being picked out of eps files.

that do.  although work people cringe @ idea of converting text paths.  because can't edit text anymore once that.  hence reason mention  making copy of eps files , storing them somehwere safe if need edit text have file can with.

randy
