have older dell precision laptop who's intel wireless card stopped working, bought belkin card , although wireless working, kismet not run, here few dumps:

fatal: failed set monitor mode: invalid argument. means drivers either not support monitor mode, or use different mechanism getting it. make sure have version of drivers support monitor mode, , consult troubleshooting section of readme.
