Thread: Left side of Desktop is inaccessible

hi all,

after trying ubuntu few releases (years) have decided give go. have been doing quite until did latest update , left hand side of desktop inaccessible.

cannot move icons there , web browser no longer fills screen although annoying. have attached screenshot message not large unhelpful!

did bit of browsing , found people had trouble ubuntu tweak, had no idea had , have never used it. tried various ways access , reset settings couldn't access un-installed using software centre , restarted....still no joy.

appreciated real ubuntu novice baby step instructions awesome.

what version of ubuntu using? customization have done?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
