Thread: Screen saver turns the backlight off

i installed oneiric (default amd64) on new laptop. 1 of issues screen saver blanks screen , not resume. can see displayed on screen backlight off. if press key nothing happens unless close , reopen lid...

know how solve this?

hybrid graphics card nvida/intel on asus u31jg laptop.

i guess not screen saver kicking in computer goes suspend mode. have same problem on macbook running xubuntu. disabling screen saver didn't change me, guess hardware power management thing built machine, can't change. got somehow used since wakes fast suspend , doesn't cause issues such screen artefacts.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
