Thread: ubuntu, nvidia, dual monitors

hi, first post here
im new linux , using ubuntu 11.10 , trying set dual monitors. isearched , tinkered few hours , i, few other people in particular thread, stuck:

on logging in, second display briefly shows desktop background, clears white blank display. right clicking on causes desktop background show again, can't applications run in @ all.

if select "home folder", second display once again blanks out.

solution provided im still unclear go here in order set monitor:

there working patch , dev team aware of problem , solution.


have compile nautilus source, or wait until fix gets added repo.

hi there having trouble work have had go using nouvea or how ever spell it. worked screen started flickering crazy installed nvidia ubuntu repo = nothing installed xswat repo = nothing went , installed driver site , nothing. please open terminal , type in

paste here wondering if have chip-set me if bug file time
