What does this message mean? : "The file name "DSC_0088.jpg" is offline or missing." ?

what message mean? : "the file name "dsc_0088.jpg" offline or missing."   in process of importing photos iphoto (don't know i'm doing....) , when @ 1 of imported photos message pops up.  know "dsc_0088.jpg" is.  don't know means file "missing".

when import photos catalog of lightroom, program takes note of photos stored. message photo missing means lightroom has lost track of photo, i.e. no longer in location lr thought was.

this typically happens if move or delete photos outside of lightroom. possibility photos stored on external harddisc no longer connected.if latter case, can solved reconnecting external drive.

 

could provide more details on how going things can more specifically?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
