Ai CS6 causing Ai CS5 to crash (win7)

installed cs6 , illustrator cs5 crashes, open crashes (adobe illustrator cs5 has stopped working) after couple of seconds, google searched problem , tried mac fix of opening cs6 first opening cs5 6 still running (cs5 quits seconds later) no joy. cs6 opens ok, can't use 5 @ all??  google search before installation said possible run both side-by-side (??) didn't bother uninstall first. please.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
