Bridge does not tile thumbnails accross two monitors after restart

after restarting computer bridge quit tiling images being displayed , shows 1 row on primary content panel.

the alteration system prior restart installing divx. system restarted after bridge refused open, , task manager did not give indication of adobe products running.

 

am missing obvious setting, , if know why reset after restart when it's worked repeatedly months. i've tried restarting multiple times, i've reset workspace, , each time expand window accross 2 monitors automatically removes grid resizes largest size , maintains single row adjust smaller thumbnails.

i see have thumbnail size slider set way minimium.  if slide right happens?

 

also, in view have thumbnails checked?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
