CS5 Greyed out input fields in InDesign

i've run similiar problem stated here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5212634

 

recently, indesign stopped displaying menu fields sort of input within application. example, when creating document, can't input width or height or page numbers. inside document, can't change font size or type. when exporting pdf, prompt box's won't allow me change of fields.

i've restarted indesign , computer, , after didn't work, reinstalled application, problem still remains. don't know fix or broken. i've never heard of problem happening anyone, , searching around on web, seems pretty rare.

 

any or suggestions appreciated.

 

i'm on os 10.6. i've followed discussion thread of previous post , @ step of creating different user see if problem persisted in new account. in case same problem persisted. can advise how proceed?

 

i have accidentally deleted system fonts have used pacifist replace default fonts.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
