Slow opening PDFs

i have been using acrobat x pro win 7 months without problem.  of sudden, 2 things have started:

 

1.  takes 30 seconds or more acrobat open pdf file.  have not changed anything.  must have been middle of night update or something.  suggestions?

 

2.  if have pdf created , try change something, such highlight portion or delete page, message says cannot save document under same name , have give new name.  have not changed settings cause program protect documents saving under original name.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
