Thread: Access Server Behind Router.
i have ubuntu server running behind router (#2), attached router/modem(#1). if connected router #2 can access server fine, can not see or communicate server in way when connected router #1.
routers not bridge in anyways, running normal. router #2 connected router #1 via ethernet (cat5) - end located @ router #1 plugged 1 of 4 etherports, while end of cat5 cable pluggin wan port.
on router #1 set static internal ip (198.168.xxx.xxx) router #2, , on router #2 set wan settings match internal ip , dns information router #1.
router #2 can access internet fine, no issues ever. far know issue not come router set up...
how access server when connected router #1?
modem/router, lan port, 192.168. address
router2, wan port, wan points router 1
ubuntu
okay first things first.
why have 2 routers?
lets assume 'router 1' given provider.
assume may have 'router 2' provide wireless?
fact of matter is, setup, should follows. ( guessing alot until tell more )
if go assumptions
router 1 should provide dhcp local network , interface internet
router 2 should connected via 1 of 4 lan ports router 1 via 1 of 4 lan ports. no wan on router 2.
router 2 should exist on network node, , should not trying route anything.
routing should happen in router 1.
if can provide more information... can more.
