Thread: Black Screen at Install

hi there,

i'm having little trouble installing ubuntu on mac. or mac matter. whenever boot usb or cdr of install boots language selection screen options menu try ubuntu, install ubuntu etc. choose install ubuntu , looks though it's going proceed entire computer goes black , after time screen powers again still black. difference can see backlighting of screen.

doesn't go anywhere there. i've tried multiple times. on imac, macbook pro , air. i've tried cdrs usb sticks , various versions of ubuntu. use right version of ubuntu have still tried other variants measure. result reproduced in every situation. i've looked @ many install instructions no avail.

doing wrong? issue right under nose?

did replace "quiet nosplash" "nomodeset" in boot parameters?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
