Thread: Display a generated list of files in Nautilus style?

long ago, in totally different (green on black) computing world, used file-listing tool display generated set of files, normal things file lister do.

if typed equivalent of filelist /some/directory displayed files in /some/directory, nautilus does. if produced list of filenames in data file use same utility, typing, say, filelist -f that.data.file , bring display in usual format containing files names contained in that.data.file. normal file-lister actions there, browse, copy, delete , on. if had script produced list of files use file lister @ files, , things them.

there similar in ubuntu? initial thought nautilus contained facility, hidden away somewhere, i've searched diligently , not found it.
