Thread: Legacy formats

every year annoy (developers) posts legacy (imperial) settings. because (developers) keep annoying me them.

every time update/upgrade ubuntu have change settings 10 different applications have mysteriously defaulted "letter" or such fahren'shaisse. printing costs double of should be!

see lot of similar postings nothing ever happens (because based moderators impose on rest of world.)

so... i'm changing tactics. instead of talking changing default settings on ubuntu or it's many applications more reasonable ones i demand "legacy" formats removed ubuntu.

in support of (radical) idea i'm posting poll indicate lack of need these formats.

know there still exists corner in huge globe uses these legacy settings. let them install additional support these settings if need them. rest of 7 billion people not miss these gone settings.

how you? need these legacy settings messing life?

excellent idea! also, since don't speak finnish don't see why should option. propose "legacy" language removed.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
