Thread: Messing with sudoers file


having workes extensively linux decade ago (slackware , linux kernels in 1-series) , having installed ubuntu 10.04lts, of course overestimated remembered , started meddling /etc/sudoers.d , created file sudoers (with content not system expected) now, when attempt sudo, recieve "sudo: parse error in /etc/sudoers.d/sudoers near line 1; sudo: no valid sudoers found, quitting". , since did remember change permissions of newly created sudoers file 440 can't remove it.

have locked myself out permanently - or @ least sudo , derivates such gksu?

there anythng short of reinstalling?

in advance possible solutions!

not sure if ubuntu installation cd this, many cds available can boot , fix installation. boot cd, mount / partition /mnt , go edit /mnt/etc/whatever file. save it, quit , boot normal os.
