Thread: Upgrade from CD freezes at "Saving Installed Packages"

my install of 11.10 got messed up, , i'm trying upgrade cd. pick "upgrade current install" , gets point reads "saving installed packages", sits there (for 25 min far) - mouse spinning if frozen.

running top (because opened live cd first, tells me there no process using more 1% of cpu. cannot hit skip button "saving installed packages" step.

advice?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
