Thread: USB ubuntu problem!!

i decided install ubuntu on 8gig usb flash using installation wizard of ubuntu on windows 7, picking flash installation directory.
installation went clean , all, , ubuntu working fine keep getting "the volume "filesystem root" has xmb disk space" message.
there way reinstall or resizing.
using ubuntu 11.10

question 1: "installation wizard of ubuntu on windows 7" refer to, wubi.exe wubi installer?

question 2: 8gb flash drive formatted fat filesystem?

if yes both, means root.disk virtual ubuntu partition 4gb, not large enough. fat filesystems not permit file sizes greater 4gb, not able create ubuntu virtual partition greater 4gb unless reformat drive. (the wubi ubuntu virtual partition contained in single file called root.disk.)

need reformat flash drive ntfs, allow larger virtual partition, or install wubi installation elsewhere. formatting flash drive journalled filesystem such ntfs may reduce life, though.

if answer either of questions no, please give more information.
