Thread: viewing nikon NEF raw files?

just bought d7000 , tried view few nef files using rawtherapee images terrible! extremely noisy , unclear.

, not photo fine using lr in win7.

there nef viewer? ideally want review raw images on laptop decide keep or delete.

there several options. can install , use darktable photo workflow software 1 option. option install libopenraw1, libopenrawgnome1, gnome-raw-thumbnailer. allow nautilus see thumbnails of raw images. shotwell display raw images correctly can use alternative darktable mass viewing of raw images. ufraw app allows view raw images , make adjustments not designed able mass view raw images...only 1 image @ time. personally, prefer darktable or shotwell viewing of many images. use gimp process images need ufraw , gimp-ufraw packages scenario.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
