Thread: VirtualBox seems to disable printing in Ubuntu

i running maverick on machine , have lexmark x6675 connected system via usb. have virtualbox 4.1 running windows vista on system. , have interesting situation printing.

if have virtualbox running usb device printer enabled virtualbox unable print ubuntu. have shutdown virtualbox (i haven't tested disabling usb access same, i'll have check) , can print ubuntu.

normal behavior? there way configure either virtualbox or ubuntu or both can gracefully share printer?

not really, either vb or ubuntu need have total control of usb port.
could, however, share printer on 1 os , connect using vb networking.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
