Can I prevent the rapid flashing which occurs when testing a Flash movie which has a syntax error?

i teach games development using flash professional cs6, , 1 of students has photosensitive epilepsy. finding 'strobing' effect occurs when executes test movie on movie errors in script triggering headaches can precursor fit. making difficult him complete lab , assignment work. there way of preventing flash movie running if contains syntax error?

i have created workaround adding bunch of frames start of movie display "syntax error" message if script doesn't run - gives student few seconds margin quite movie before strobing begins. have single frame @ start goto statement jumps on error frames if code doesn't have syntax errors.

this seems working ok, it's ugly solution - know of better way deal this?

thanks.

unfortunately, there's no better way that.  excerpt book wrote:

compile-time errors prevent code, no matter located, executing. see main timeline play (along movieclips) start finish , loop. looks headache-inducing mess. if prone seizures, click close button on test movie panel possible.

you not need read error message(s) before closing test movie panel. error message(s) remain in compiler error panel can read @ leisure long before suffer migraine or grand mal seizure
