Dreamweaver CS5 design view background is black, how can I stop this?

hey everybody! have problem dreamweaver cs5's design view showing black background. can create brand new html document either standalone file or part of site , show black background wheather it's saved or not. problem pages have created , pages created dreamweaver pre-installed template. can't see unless it's not black. not affected background colors either, in fact background colors don't show on make; it's black! strange fact given page display fine in live view or in web browser. in advance, need on because need use design view position elements (which lot easier guessing best in code view).

generally when dw starts doing funky, go straight deleting cache file...

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
