Place command use with Batch Processing

i creating layout includes image file. base layer jpg file , image needs placed ('place' command) on top of layer , call couple of other processing steps after (these steps not shown below). easy enough turn action.


>open (open bkg image)

>place (place subject's image file)

>set current layer (change blend mode of subject image layer)

>save

>close

 

but, when try automate action, place command not work properly. it's because chose specific image file placed. how program action 'wildcard' can used in batch , process whole folder of images?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
