Thread: can't mount xfs filesystem

i have 1tb hard drive 3 partitions. 1 2 gb swap partition, 20gb ext3 root partition, , last xfs partition remaining space on hard drive used it.

did clean install of 11.10 , during install specified have format , install 20gb root partition , specified nothing xfs files system since didn't want erase or format on partition.

os installed want mount xfs partition it's not working. type in following:

code:
sudo mount /dev/sda6 /media/mount
and error saying:

code:
mount: cannot allocate memory
searching google brings articles talking being unable mount windows file shares , getting same error message.

nothing @ related i'm trying do.

suggestions appreciated.

try running
code:
tail -f /var/log/messages
in terminal when issuing mount command. sure filesystem not automatically mounted already? output of
code:
