Thread: dual monitor problem: one monitor has picture while the other can be interacted with

i'll honest, haven't searched solution, because don't know search for. while trying set dual monitors, restarted x server. when screens came on, both showed desktop, left screen goes black , right screen stays up. try , click icons on right screen, , don't work. realize if move mouse left, though screen black, can see pointer. , if right click on left screen, menu pops on right screen. still can't interact icons, don't know how settings try , fix this. tried reboot no luck. can fix without reinstalling?
