Thread: DVD with embedded powerpoints does not run correctly.

received dvd (vob-format files) includes powerpoint slides embedded video links.

when dvd played in dvd player, linked tv, runs.
move next slide, have push start again, because moment slide shown, dvd pauses.

slides hold link video snippet.
snippet played when push start. when video finished, can move on next slide via play button.

dvd runs under windows 7 pro media player 12, slower respond commands. move next slide use forward button.
, not play linked video.

when running dvd movie player, smplayer, vlc, or gnome mplayer, controls working rarely, meaning e.g. movie player able skip next slide, there no way of starting video snippet.
vlc even, there no control ever move forward slide, or start video.

did download following:

1. sudo apt-get install libdvdread4
2. sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh
3. mediabuntu repositories
4. sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

right ripping dvd via dvd::rip see if can way.

couple of questions:

1. i trying figure out kind of software, under windows, can create such kind of videos?
2. is there way type of video can played?

it works in win7 because have ms office installed there.

it's not going work in ubuntu -- same reason. not have ms office installed , working.
