Thread: HELP! No wireless

hi, complete newbie ubuntu (and linux/unix)...i built small computer , loaded ubuntu 10.11. although able online via ethernet cable fios router, unable wireless function work. using linksys (cisco) ae1200 wireless n usb adaptor. life of me can ubuntu recognize wireless adaptor. can please help? ubuntu if can notget wireless function work. fear have go xp or win 7 if can't figured out.

...its me again, snake0317...i reviewing relevant threads , came across 1 1 chap states " usb wireless not work because driver linksys ae1200 not linux compatible"...hmmm, wonder if problem? if so, might have go down local microcenter , buy cheap wireless adaptor, 1 compatible linux. how find out if adaptor , drivers linux compatible? tks. snake0317

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
