Thread: Intel 4965 Wireless Card not working on Ubuntu 10.04.3

i made fresh install of ubuntu 10.04.3, wireless not operational.
laptop hp compaq 8510w, according linlap has intel 4965 802.11abgn wireless card, should work out of box.
blue leds both dark.

here output of iwconfig:

code:
daniel@daniel-laptop:~$ iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. wlan0 ieee 802.11abgn essid:off/any mode:managed access point: not-associated tx-power=off retry long limit:7 rts thr:off fragment thr:off power management:off tun0 no wireless extensions.
i tried downloading , installing driver manually, there wrong it, "make" returned errors , asked me "make" again, , repeat...

btw tried booting livecd well, wireless card still wasn't showing up.

i'm not sure do, can help?

i not sure if going work/help, had same issue rosewill rt3562... on u server 10.04. had do, go web via eth0 , run build-essential , "apt-get install gcc" plus did same "make".
copied drive in user home directory unzipped using tar.. "xjvr or xzvr"
cd'd in directory , ran "make" watched run, looking dependancy errors, happened noted each 1 , had find right ".deb" file download , complie each "make" error. once "make" ran through succesfully, ran "make install" in driver directory. guessed had clear dependency errors. in on 53 of them.... right system see rosewill ra0 still cant on wireless, card working... , connect no security router..
