Thread: Supermicro AOC-USAS2-L8e SAS/SATA card compatibility

i'm considering purchasing supermicro aoc-usas2-l8e sas/sata card. card compatible ubuntu?

apparently uses mpt2sas module , has lsi 2008 chip. closely related product aoc-usas2-l8i has same chip, has raid capability, not require. in spite of that, may cheaper , easier me buy.

supermicro has drivers redhat , opensuse, not ubuntu or debian. drivers difficult install , installer won't work on ubuntu systems.

lsi's version of card lsi sas 9211-8i sgl

aware supermicro card uses non-standard uio bracket confident of ability modify bracket, use no bracket, or produce new bracket.

if has alternative recommendations appropriate 4 or 8 port card, i'd welcome them.

did ever figure out? have ordered sas 9211-8i , try weekend. i'm hoping bios figures out , lets me present single drive, i'm not optimistic.
