Thread: Ubuntu Desktop Crashes

hey! first post. desktop running ubuntu 11.10 64-bit has been having... problems staying alive. run awhile crash randomly. time varies it's withing 15 minutes of startup. crashes whether i'm logged in or @ log in screen. automatically starts itself. after log in ubuntu doesn't acknowledge it's crash or show report know of. running dual boot system , windows 7 working fine. i've had cpu overheat before when testing in windows , shut down doing in ubuntu. can boot , use terminal limited amounts of time if need supply more info let me know. thanks!

my desktop in lubuntu goes weird every , then. seems desktop earlier time - info not displayed.

i'd tell details of system can't access them because none of icons work. i'm on lubuntu 11.something far can remember.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
