Thread: Which webcam device?

panp7, 1 year old, ubuntu 11.10, equipped integrated webcam.

discover exact device (manufacturer, model) of webcam, may download appropriate driver it.

problem hoping address video freezes when holding video chat in skype. have not been able reproduce issue using cheese, may problem skype itself. plan install driver see if addresses problem. can dissuaded course if advice contrary, though. skype recognizes webcam "bisoncam, nb pro" @ /dev/video0, don't know if correct device, or whether skype emulating device.

whatever advice can offer...

that's correct device, , of our webcam drivers provided ubuntu. installing different driver unwise since break other areas of system. issue skype issue. using latest version of client?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
