Transferring photos from one computer to another

photoshop cs5 , running on new imac all-in-one. however, when tansferred photos old pc (photoshop 6.0) captions .psd files transferred none of captions .jpeg files transferred. used simple transfer of photos external disk "my pictures" on imac. how can redo transfer of captions transferred?

ps6 means files didn't use xmp rather proprietary format then. therefore not stored in exif/ iptc data of jpegs locked away in database old versions can read. well, @ least that's how remember it.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
