Thread: Automatically Starting Firewire (IEEE-1394) Network On Boot?

i'm using synergy on 1394 (firewire) private network. fine, except can't firewire ethernet startup automatically.

none of 10.04 network tools seem it.


after login if do:

code:
sudo ifconfig eth3 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 up
then fine.

how 1394 network come automatically?

bump.

no ideas?

should file bug report on network setup tools? or not using "right" ones?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
