Thread: MacbookPro3,1 Fails to Boot

hi!

i'm trying install ubuntu on macbook pro 3,1. i'm using oneiric amd64 alternate cd. i've tried install 'single boot' (get rid of osx , have ubuntu use everything), failed. reinstalled osx refit , ubuntu, same thing happened. if boot 'text' command line option, gets stuck right after talks usb device.

on how fix appreciated.

did install grub on ubuntu partition? if install grub root of hd ubuntu not boot.

example:

/sda - efi
/sda1 -osx
/sda2 -ubuntu

install grub root of /sda2 partition , set mount point /

have more 1 linux entry in refit menu?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
