Thread: Manually coping whole linux system.


hi,

moving 1 disk another. tried use norton ghost back-up current partitions.

unfortunately newset 1 fails when copying linux partition.

doing manual copy. (just copying files, while running livecd, copied linux off).
there 2 problems:
1. when copying system complaint how it's impossible copy special files. thought these created on start-up, wrong. how affect possibility of manual copy?
2. after copying partitions on new disk uuids change. how restore grub , fstab easily. there else have restore succesfully boot copied system?

you can use remastersys create separate bootable backup... u reinstall it... up.... hope helps...
