Thread: Marvell TopDog Wireless in 11.04

howdy all

working on friend's laptop - gateway m6752 marvell topdog wireless card.

followed instructions in tutorials on how set (the ndiswrapper thing etc.).

lspci -nn looks - marvell device detected
sudo ndiswrapper -l says netmw14x driver installed , device present
iwconfig returns wireless device, managed mode, , on

when iwlist scan, however, things aren't good:

wlan 0 no scan results

additionally, when click usual icon @ top don't see list of wireless networks detected. whereas, own laptop, running 11.04 (but different wireless card) sees networks no issues.

i'm posting because tutorials stop successful ndiswrapper -l output. don't provide solution when device present wireless networks fail seen.

additionally, when tried "force it" using "connect hidden wireless network" , select wpa , put in network key, etc., times out without connection.

assistance appreciated. thanks!

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
