Adobe Reader XI won't launch/read pdfs. No error message.

all of sudden, reader xi wont launch, read pdfs, or download pdfs online. when double click program shortcut (or pdf want open) mouse makes "loading" animation....but nothing happens. no error message, refuses work. re-installing temporarily fixed problem. however, next time turn on machine problem returns! i'm @ point have reinstall adobe everytime turn on computer .

 

any advice welcome.

 

i'm on windows 7 btw

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
