Finding images removed from catalog but not deleted from disk

i know have on occasion gotten stupid , selected "remove" after marking images rejected, when meant select delete disk.  believe means have image files on hard drive no longer appear in lightroom catalog, don't want them @ all.  meant move them trash bin, but, said, hit wrong button reason.

 

is there way can search images still in folders on hard drive (where save them when imported in lightroom) no longer appear in catalog?  know kind of opposite problem folks have, i'd clean hard drive before transfering images new computer.

i don't know how find images aren't referenced in catalog still on hd.

 

but solve problem exporting current images catalog including negatives new destination folder of choice. grab images in catalog leaving out lr doesn't know about.

 

you transfer entire export folder new computer.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
