Thread: Blank screen where grub should be.

hello. i'm having trouble seeing grub on boot. background: i've been dual-booting ubuntu 11.10(upgraded 11.04) & win7 on barebone pc connected 32-inch lg tv via vga. running smoothly until decided fresh install of oneiric. when boot see bios screen, tv displays "invalid format" error, , can see ubuntu log in screen. happens when shutting down or restarting computer, no longer see screen it's asking processes shut down.

appreciated.
thanks!

does mean can boot ubuntu, not in windows because don't see grub menu?
if can boot ubuntu, check file /etc/default/grub whether contains this

grub_hidden_timeout=0

if yes, change value of 0 other 0 , execute

sudo update-grub

afterwards make change permanent.
