Thread: broken kernels

i made mistake of upgrading ubuntu, browser froze , locked system. had hit power button. none of kernels boot except oldest , 4 kernels back. getting kernel panick on of these.

how repair kernel.

think scheduled scan on next boot, cannot tell or recall, because code cryptic.

i googled removing kernels, removed oldest, working kernel. on deleting latest kernel, auto installed latest kernel (newer kernel after upgrade. ) each kernel taking 90 megs. ended gaining 200 megs of space. 1 chose boots, leaving me 2 working kernels.

don't think chkdsk worked. don't think has screen.

browser installation got damaged, had reinstall it.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
