Thread: Error message after toying with Users and Groups

i playing around permissions , groups in "users , groups" applet in "system -> administration"

think enabled permissions myself maybe shouldn't have.

when rebooted computer got error message said:

"could not update iceauthority file /home/user/.iceauthority"

grey box black background came before gnome desktop. had message , "close" button @ bottom.
after system booted ok, there when boot now.

thing can't remember did when playing permissions. there can do?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
