Thread: Help! Removed gnome, can't acces login screen


edit: ok. let's forget recovering. how backup files recovery mode? want move/copy them external hard drive. after re-install os.

salut everyone!

installed xubuntu. , decided rid of gnome.
follow psychocat's instruction pure xfce

now, whenever turn on computer, shows following message , blinks repeatedly.

*stopping cold plug devices *stopping log initial device creation *starting enable remaining boot-time  encrypted block device. *starting configure network device security. *starting bluetooth *pulseaudio configured per-user session                                  saned disabled; edit /etc/default/saned *stopping enable remaining boot-time encrypted block devices *stopping mount file-system on boot.
when blinks seems if trying load lightdm mini-second , returns previous message.

perhaps shouldn't removed has been removed.

please me.

ps: /home encrypted, , there 1 user installed.
ps ii: running xubuntu live usb.
ps iii: running oneiric ocelot

ok. re-learned how go recovery menu in grub.
