Thread: Hibernation

i've been trying ubuntu server hibernate without success. through series of mistakes found out supports wake on lan when turn server off which, far concerned, serves purposes. there down side shutting down each time instead of hibernating?

well. full boot takes little longer fast boot , restore hibernation. though depending on how (little) you're running on server, full boot may faster restore hibernation.

i've not ever trusted hibernation since having issues in... windows 2000.
granted concept of hibernation far more advanced in windows 2000, still don't trust concept. prefer full poweroff or restarts fuzzy-off hibernation.
sufficiently low power-consumption machines, leave on , done it.

but, that's me. gives thoughts/ideas.
