Thread: How many Gnome Shell extensions are you using?

yes, pointless poll

uses gnome shell, how many extensions using? , which?




use 4 extensions quite gnome shell is. may change if find useful in future. looks me:

- user themes extension
- noa11y extension
- alternative status menu extension
- weather indicator extension

i use two, user themes , weather indicator. weather indicator show wrong day's weather, restarting fixes days leave disabled. using noa11y comment out a11y indicator line in /usr/share/gnome-shell/js/ui/panel.js (though needs redone @ every shell update). commented out usermenu line there , use script run dialog logout, or terminal reboot/halt.



once customized few keyboard shortcuts open terminal, file browser, internet browser , close , hide windows, i've been thrilled shell. i'm running debian testing gnome-shell 3.2 installed experimental, though believe that's been moved testing now. -edit- nope, in unstable now.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
