Thread: How to know how much ram linux programs are using?
i going buy new laptop seems daft considering don't have enough money buy laptop , old laptop works (despite being 6 years old).
hp compaq nx6325 has 1gb of ram. small amount can upgrade 2gb want know how ram programs use whilst being run see if it's worth buying.
i'd use screen recorder app (that got ubunto center) seems laggy , i'm not 100% sure if it's due lack of video ram (only 128mb) or fact programs been used along side screen recorder taking big bite out of 1gb ram.
try this:
- open terminal
- type command top
- shows details of each process running
or:
go system > administration > system monitor, tab processess.
