Thread: Kubuntu 11.10 switch -- No desktop effects? Ubuntu One?

hello, i'm thinking switching kubuntu 11.10. burned live dvd in order try it. kde 4.7 lot. i'd install it. however, have 2 questions:

1. when trying live dvd, application windows have no shadows. because it's live dvd? graphics card integrated intel hd.

2. can use ubuntu 1 in kubuntu 11.10? far, found outdated alpha client broken. or there client kubuntu?

thank in advance!

1) desktop effects disabled. don't work out of box (kwin settings corrupted somehow) have remove kwinrc file ~/.kde/share/config , hit alt+f2 , type kwin --replace . kwin default , effects should work.

2) know nothing ubuntu one. sorry.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
